Hello. I am up with my second Blue Nectar product review today. I just love the fragrance of jasmine in Blue Nectar night cream and it is working fine on me so I picked up cocoa butter nargis variant in Niraa body lotion. Let’s see how this body lotion turned out!
NIRAA Cocoa Butter Body Lotion Lotion with SPF 30 PA++ is a non greasy light feel completely natural body lotion for daily broad spectrum Sun protection. It helps in skin brightening and also Sunprotect Skin from harmful UVA & UVB sun rays.
Blue Nectar Niraa body lotion comes in plastic pump bottle. The bottle is blue in color and is sturdy. The pump given is lockable. Further, a beautiful blue – Blue Nectar’s signature cardboard box is given for protection. All the details are printed well on the back label.
Fragrance and Texture
This body lotion is white in color with semi liquid consistency – just like normal body lotions. The fragrance of Blue Nectar Niraa body lotion is floral but I did found it a bit overpowering and a bit unnatural. As the name says cocoa butter, I was expecting hints of chocolatey fragrance but unfortunately there are no such hints. To be honest, I don’t like this fragrance much. Choice of fragrance depends of individual. You may or may not like what I like!
Blue Nectar doesn’t provide full ingredient list. Here is the list of ingredients printed on label.
Aloevera gel, licorice, haldi, manjistha, ashwagandha, virgin olive oil, jojoba oil, organic glycerine, cream base, mango butter, shea butter, cocoa butter, almond butter, nargis, sodium benzonate, potassium sorbate
I take about 2 pumps of Blue Nectar Niraa body lotion post bathing for body and apply it on damp skin. The lotion is very light weight and non greasy. It absorbs in a minute or so on skin and you don’t require a lot of amount.
The body lotion does not leave any white cast behind being a sunscreen which is so amazing. If I talk about the hydration, Blue Nectar Niraa body lotion keeps skin nourished for few hours. This lotion is light weight – provides little hydration not much. It contains ayurvedic herbs that are supposed to protect our skin from harsh sunrays.
However, I cannot comment on how well this body lotion would work as a standalone sunscreen as there are no sun protecting ingredients mentioned. India being a tropical country needs a broad spectrum sunscreen no matter what. And this makes difficult to just rely on this particular sunscreen. So I would like to use it as a body lotion rather than a sunscreen lotion.
Despite of having brightening ingredients like haldi, mangistha, licorice, I dint notice in brightening effect. I dint expect it from a body lotion but it is important to mention in review.
Price and Availability
2 years from date of manufacturing
If you are looking for a light weight, non greasy sunscreen and if you like floral fragrance, you can opt for Blue Nectar Niraa body lotion. I would not recommend using it as a standalone sunscreen if heading out. The body lotion keeps skin nourished for few hours. It will be suitable to normal skin types.
