I have struggled with itchy, flaky scalp and dandruff tremendously from the longest time. You won’t even believe but I used to scratch my head like a monkey. Of course no one likes doing this but then I had no solution for the scalp issues.
I knew that neem oil has detoxifying properties which would help with dandruff and so I kept on using neem oils from local brands and some DIY hair packs too. But nothing worked so far. Let me admit that I had no tolerance level in all those remedies but I kept on trying with a hope that perhaps something would change the condition of scalp. When I read about Kama’s neem oil, I thought to give it a try. Being a lazy girl, I thought it would be a great option and a reason to escape from hair packs. Honestly, I don’t have patience to apply hair packs (I mean wash off packs) regularly. I am ok with once in a while usage but a big no for regular usage.
I came to know how a cold pressed, pure, organic neem oil smells and looks the day when I opened the bottle of from Kama Ayurveda’s Organic Neem oil, which is also my first ever purchase from Kama. I found most of the earlier used oils were adulterated. All those were mixture of castor oil with some neem. I am very disappointed to find it is really hard to find out pure neem oil at local shops. Believe it or not, I see minimum 50 neem trees on the way out to my colony.
Kama’s neem oil is of supreme quality. I now regret that why I found this beautiful oil so late. It is my life saviour. For me, it is not a bottle of oil but it is a bottle of miracle. The person who has experienced stubborn dandruff and itchiness will only understand this. I got rid of dandruff completely after continuous usage within 6-8 months. I neither switched my shampoo nor used any other product for hair. I just used to oil my hair with neem oil before shampooing and washed with regular shampoo. Kama’s neem oil not only gave me dandruff free scalp but it also improved overall texture of my hair. My hair are less frizzy, more healthy, smooth, soft and shiny now. Currently, I keep switching almond oil or hair mask made of pure oils/butters to get advantage of other herbs. When I feel my scalp is a little itchy or it has collected a lot of gunk, I only reach out to Kama’s neem oil only.
Currently, I am on my second bottle which is about to finish. 1 bottle easily lasts for good 8-9 months with twice or thrice a week usage. I apply oil to scalp and tresses only.
How I use the Neem oil?
I usually apply oil to scalp and tresses on the night before I wash my hair. If I am in hurry or I make instant plan to wash hair, I keep oil 30 minutes to an hour before washing. I found keeping oil overnight working best for me. This oil dint cause any bumps or acne on forehead and I am super happy with that.
The only ingredient of this product is 100% pure cold pressed organic neem seed oil.
845 INR for 200ml bottle, it is increased to 895 now.
Where to buy from?
Kama Ayurveda’s online/offline stores is the best place to buy. You can also purchase it from online shopping portals such as amazon.
Kama Ayurveda Organic Neem Oil comes in an amber coloured plastic bottle with golden screw cap with stopper to prevent leakage. Unlike other products, Kama Ayurveda provides a nice green coloured cardboard box with pretty design of neem leaves in golden colour.
Colour, texture and smell
This is yellow to brownish coloured thick oil, not as thick as castor oil but it is thick and it smells exactly as neem seeds. The smell is pungent and bitter but I am not bothered. It is easy to apply and easy to wash off just like other oils.
I would not recommend keeping oil overnight if you have bumps or acne on forehead.
I urge you to consult your dermatologist or aesthetician before applying neem oil on your face. Neem oil causes purging. I have done this in past and it took months to heal from the cystic huge pimples,. I don’t want you to go and suffer from the phase that I have gone through.
- Always cleanse your comb/s before using on cleansed scalp.
- Using neem wood combs is a big plus point.
- It is needless to say that do not ever share comb/s with anyone.
- Washing hair regularly is the major point. Please don’t be lazy doing this. Cleansing your scalp twice or thrice a week is extremely important.
If you have any scalp issues and have tried any and everything and still you are suffering, I highly highly recommend you to try Kama Ayurveda’s Neem oil. Because I have suffered from the scalp issues for years and I know how it feels. You need to give at least 3-4 months or may be even more time to see the results. You won’t get desired results by using just once in a while. You will definitely see results with consistent usage. This oil is the best find to target all my scalp issues. It seems pricey but as I stated earlier, it lasts easily for months. Kama’s neem oil has changed texture of my hair and I recommend this to everyone having any scalp related issues.
